RivalEdge (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our AI competitor intelligence platform, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored as a secure hash via Supabase). We do not collect your name unless you provide it in settings.

Billing Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. We retain Stripe customer IDs and subscription status to manage your account.

Competitor Configuration

You provide URLs and names of competitors you want us to monitor. This data is stored to power your intelligence feeds and reports.

Usage Data

We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This helps us maintain service reliability and improve the product.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the RivalEdge service
  • Process billing and manage your subscription
  • Monitor the competitors you configure and deliver intelligence reports
  • Send product updates, alerts, and weekly digests (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Respond to support requests
  • Improve the platform through aggregate, anonymized usage analysis
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

4. Third-Party Services

RivalEdge integrates with the following third-party services to deliver our platform:

  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
  • OpenAI (GPT-4o) — AI analysis of competitor signals and digest generation
  • Firecrawl — web scraping of publicly available competitor pages
  • Slack — optional alert delivery (only if you connect Slack)

Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. Competitor URLs and signal data may be sent to OpenAI and Firecrawl for processing. We do not send your personal information to these services beyond what is necessary for authentication or billing.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management (via Supabase). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser, but this will prevent you from logging in to the Service.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Intelligence reports and competitor signal history are retained for 12 months by default.

After account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial records).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request corrections to inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Children's Privacy

RivalEdge is a B2B platform intended for business use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
